Private OneSystem Management
The Private OneSystem Management option installs the OneSystem management interface. The OneSystem management interface allows you to configure the protection environment, add storage, add policies, protect the machines, and perform backup and restore operations.
As described in step 4 of the Hyper-V Deploy Process Overview section, the Private OneSystem Management option installs an IO filter and agent to download a VHDX and import it into Hyper-V Manager. This allows you to perform all OneSystem functions from a local instance.
During installation:
- Enter the operating system's Admin username and password then click Next.
- Click Next for each step and enter/confirm any additional information requested until the installation is complete.
- The VHDX is in the default folder for the hard disk files configured when setting up Hyper-V.
- After the install is complete, the service will download and deploy the OneSystem into Hyper-V.
- After the deployment is complete, the director or service node VM starts running.
- The VM will now be accessible in the Hyper-V manager.
- When the install wizard finishes, the agent service downloads the appliance to the default path (set in the Hyper-V role). It also creates the VM and starts the appliance. This process may take a few minutes to download, create and start the VM. When the VM starts, the system is ready to use.
